FAQS

“But I’m not strong enough… or fit enough… or flexible enough…”

The best way to get stronger and better at doing aerials and circus is… to do aerials and circus! Our coaches are here to support and guide you in your strength and fitness journey. They are able to adapt moves to help you achieve your goals. The environment is supportive and fun, you won’t even realise you’re working hard!

What should I wear to class?

Full length tights and a t-shirt or singlet that is tight and can be tucked in. This is so you can protect your knees and legs on the apparatuses, and so when you are upside down your shirt doesn’t lift up.

It is always good to have a second pair of tights or stockings when learning sliding or dropping on the silks. A long sleeved top is also important to protect your under arms from some moves.

For boys and men, you can wear the same and put shorts over your tights if it feels more comfortable.

What is the minimum age for classes?

We have our classes set to minimum of 7 years as this is typically the age where children are able to understand their body’s ability to move in space, and listen and follow instructions. BUT we have the Guardians and Gremlins class where parents and little ones (under school age) can come and enjoy some circus fun together!

What if I have additional needs or a condition that will affect my abilities?

We are an inclusive space and can cater classes or privates for students with additional needs or other conditions. We have many members who are neurodivergent and we facilitate to support everyone within our space as best as we can.

We can utilise NDIS funding for our circus programs. Please contact us via email and we can discuss the options with you.

How do I choose an apparatus? / How do I know what I want to do?

When first starting you can try a bit of everything! You can then decide what suits you best. You can always change your mind.

What safety measures do you take?

We take safety very seriously. All of our coaches have been training and teaching for many years, and have lots of experience spotting tricks and teaching techniques. There is regular training to keep their knowledge and skills up to date.

We regularly inspect our rigging and aerial gear is cleaned and maintained regularly. Our rigging structure was designed and manufactured by skilled and experienced engineers.

Crash mats are provided to keep all our students safe, and new skills are taught on the ground and at a safe height until the instructor and the student are confident.

Do you take Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers?

We are registered with active kids and creative kids! Please email through your voucher number and we will add it to your account.

I’ve done gymnastics and dance before, does that help?

Circus and aerial arts are a perfect sport for people who have done or are doing dance, gymnastics, rock-climbing, ice-skating, weight lifting, walking, running, or even if you have done nothing! It can be adjusted to meet your needs, and introduce you to a new fun way to engage in fitness rather than in a gym.

Do you do school holiday programs?

Yes! Keep an eye out on our social media and website, every holidays we run different day or half day programs for kids and teens.
